Emphasis on Reading and Translating Fall Semester: Plato’s Symposium

For all Graduate Students in the Arts & Sciences, any motivated college

or high school student or other adult desiring to read the language.

Online course in “real time.” Students log on at specific times and interact directly with the Instructor and other classmates by listening & speaking,translating and posing questions.

Take from any location or from home.

Equivalent to one year of college Attic Greek.

Intensive Course. No previous language knowledge required.

Time commitment: 30 hrs/week. Objective: To reach an intermediate reading level in Fall Semester: Plato’s Symposium

Meetings: Mondays & Thursdays, 6:15 pm –9:15 pm EST

48 hours of instruction approximate 4 semester hours.

Background of Instructor:  Dr. Kristina Chew received her BA in Classics from Princeton University (1990) and her Ph.D. from Yale University in 1995. She was an Assistant Professor of Classics at the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, MN (2001-2005) and Associate Professor of Classics at Saint Peter’s University, Jersey City, NJ (2005-2014). Her student evaluations attest to her popularity and dedication to her students.
